Athena Lee Kottak is not new to the
SplatterTribe. Actually, years ago in a previous
incarnation, SplatterTribe had an advice columnist
known as K.A.M.F.'N Athena (short for Krazy-Assed
Mother F'n Athena, of course). She tackled all questions
and answered however she saw fit. The reason that column
came about was because I had sent Athena an email
interview concerning her band Krunk and she returned
the interview in about six different emails and in no
certain order. I found it so humorous and interesting that I
hit her up to be our advice columnist.
Well it has been a while since Athena
has graced a SplatterTribe page so a few months back
I hit her up for another email interview. Which I received
back this week after a phoner we had planned did not
work out. This is just a short email interview, but expect a
more in depth phoner interview very soon!
For those who do not know who Athena is I'll
fill you in. Athena is the younger sister of
Motley Crue Drumming Legend Tommy Lee and wife of
former Kentuckian and present Scorpions drummer
James Kottak. She currently plays (what else?) drums
with her husband (also known as Jimmie Rachitt) in
the band Kottak, which has recently recorded new
material for an upcoming album. Kottak, the band, was
originally known as Krunk, but changed the name after
Lil' Jon Crunked the world over.
So, Athena is back in the Tribe.
Kottak is back with new music and all is now right in
the world! The video posted above, PINK/SOFT was from
Kottak's previous album Therupy, but with
recent recordings surfacing on their MySpace page expect
allot of new things Kottak coming from the Kottak
camp and the SplatterTribe camp as well. --Primal
BTW, if you do see Athena at a show
and she does flash you as she offers in this interview, you
are obligated to send us some pics!! SplatterTribe Loves
