Busty Heart/Splattertribe Interview #1

OK, here's another situation I had. After years of using micro cassettes to record interviews, recently I changed up to digital. It seemed long overdue and with the new formats that SplatterTribe will soon be pursuing , it also seemed to be a necessity. The problem is if you start using something before you get it completely figured out, you run into issues. Well, that is what happened to me.

While still figuring out my new recording device I had a few interviews already scheduled. I did those interviews with my new equipment and by doing so, two interviews paid the price. One was the interview I spoke of the other day, which was with Fish Scales of the Hip Hop Group Nappy Roots (which was completely lost, but will be made up) and the other was a follow up phone interview I did with TV & Internet personality Busty Heart, shortly after she did the IM interview with me.

Busty's interview was not completely lost but a good portion was. What we have here is the portion that wasn't lost. What are you gonna do, you know? All I can say is, sorry Busty! I truly, truly am. Maybe we can get something worked out in the near future.

Primal Interview with Busty Heart

SplatterTribe:  Introduce yourself and for those that do not know you, tell'm who you are.

Busty Heart: Hi. This is Busty Heart. I'm from Turtle Point, Pennsylvania. I am a professional entertainer through TV, radio, internet and night clubs as well. I'm 47 years old and I've been entertaining for 15 years in night clubs and then I've been doing TV since 1987, '88. I've done a lot of TV shows in the United States and across the world.

SplatterTribe:  You said '87, '88 was when you first got your first big television break. Who was Busty Heart before then and what were you doing then?

Busty Heart: I worked for a law firm before that. I went to school at Dana Hall in Wellesley, (Massachusetts) in high school. Then I went to college at Pine Manor College in Brookline Massachusetts. Then from there I actually worked at a bank vault. Then from working at a bank vault. Then from working in a bank vault I worked at the Boston Court House. I did the records department. Then I worked for the lawyer. I did paralegal and that lawyer is now my other half of 26 years.

Then from there, I ended up dancing because I ended up making more (money) as a dancing feature. I started off dancing in this club in Connecticut....Those people that I worked for were in the Vaudeville club business for 30 years prior to that and we learned alot about working in a nightclub and how to become a feature. From there, I ended up featuring all over the country.

At the same time I was going to basketball games in Boston and that's where I get discovered on CBS Sports.

SplatterTribe:  What was that whole whirlwind like? You basically became the Mascot for the Celtics.

Busty Heart: Actually in the Boston area when they saw me on TV, I was setting next to John Salley and it was during the playoff games. The camera panned in and Brent Musberger goes, "John Salley is in the audience" and he wouldn't stand up. His legs were actually going over the seat (laughs). Anyway, he wouldn't stand up when they announced him. He was the #1 draft pick from Georgia Tech. He said to me, "You stand up." I said, "OK."

So I stood up on TV when they announced the #1 draft pick (laughs). Brent Musberger said, "I guess that's the #1 draft pick." There I was and then what came after that in Boston was 'Who's that Girl?' and the across the country.

SplatterTribe:  That was also a legendary Celtics team that year.

Busty Heart: Yeah, I went around the country (with them). When they played Houston Rockets, I went to that game. Then I went to LA when they played the LA Lakers in the finals. They lost to the LA Lakers in that one series. When I went to that game, the fans of Boston had given me a basketball bra and they said, "Please give this to Jack Nicholson." So there was a big radio/media event that we had in one of the nightclubs. Thousands of fans showed up and donated money for me to go out to LA and set behind Jack Nicholson and put this bra on his head. So that's what I did.

I ended up going out to LA and I walked in. They have a celebrity entrance and at the time I was 22 years old when I went out there and Diane Cannon was standing there. She was looking at me like, "Who's this big Titted bimbo?" (laughs) I was just standing there going ladi dadi da (laughs). I paid $10,000 for the ticket to set behind Jack Nicholson and I walked into that place for free. No one asked for a ticket at all. (laughs) I was on TV and everything. Then I set down behind Jack Nicholson and then at halftime I went up and I put that bra on his head. Well, that made him really mad. He took that bra and he whipped it into the audience. I grabbed the bra back from one of the audience members and I put it back on Jack's head and said, "Jack, you don't understand. This is from the fans of Boston for you mooning them when you came to the Boston Gardens." (laughs) Needless to say, he wasn't to happy with me but it was an exciting time. It really was.

SplatterTribe:  You said up until then you had worked in a law office and etc, was you always wanting to get into entertainment or did it just happen?

Busty Heart: Yeah, I did. You know, I always felt that I would like to be an entertainer and at the time I figured out that I could make more money by the way I looked. I came under a lot of scrutiny by the way I looked and my age working in law offices and working in the Boston court house. Women, you know, they're very discriminatory.....and I went through an all girls prep school. That's how I got the name Busty.

SplatterTribe: Well, I was going to ask how you actually got your name.

Busty Heart: Yeah. It came fro Dana Hall. The girls at Dana Hall.

SplatterTribe: You're name was also associated with the Boston Red Sox as well. What's the story on that?

Busty Heart: Well, I'm from Boston and I'm a big Boston fan so I went to the Red Sox games as well and I got to meet a lot of the players. (I met) Jim Wright and Oil Can Boid. You know, I've always been a fan since I was a little kid. When I go to baseball games it kind of causes a big havoc when I show up.

When I traveled on the road, I ended up going to the Texas Rangers and was setting in the stands. I got invited down to the locker room. That's when George W. Bush owned the team. I was down in the locker room trying to get Nolin Ryan off his bike and distracting him with my hooters. (laughs) Then Julio Baker goes, "Will you pretend you're running to first base and I'll try to block you?" and I knocked him over with my boobs (laughs). So I got to meet a lot of players and I really enjoyed that, you know?

I still like going to baseball games. It's just kind of a hassle when I go. It gets kind of crazy.

I'm do be doing a thing for Hooters -Hooterpalooza- out in California in May in Fremont, California. That's for the chain restaurants. I'm real exited about that. That's what I'm doing now. You know, my career has changed quite a bit because now I'm a club owner and I don't dance anymore, but I run a club. Also you know, I do a lot of TV work. I've been to Japan 4 times. I've been to Istanbul. Turkey, I did a show there. Then I was in Spain and England. That's most recently. So my career has taken a big transition from nightclubs to TV.
