Killfest Louisville presented by
TerryHarper.com
Many, years ago, back in the fan-zine days,
the first interview that I ever conducted was
with Bobby 'Blitz' Ellsworth, vocalist for the
Metal band Overkill.
I remember my buddy Cliff and I sounding
like Beavis and Butthead during the
interview because well, we where shocked we even
got the interview for one thing!
I mean that was
Atlantic Records that set the interview up for us!
We where just some young punks searching
for a thing called Rock N Roll, you know?
And when we found Rock N Roll, we rocked it and
then went home to our Mom's houses! HAHA!
Anyway, this story
started when my buddies Chris &
Dillard and myself where out running around
looking for somewhere to loiter and the idea of
doing up an all range Art & Music fanzine came
up! We spent the evening coming up with ideas
for it. A couple of weeks later I had weaseled
us some tickets and an interview with
Overkill and their opening act Stick
at the Toy Tiger in Louisville, KY.
That's where the whole
hustle began! But that's a whole other story!
When it was time to do the
interview with Bobby Blitz of Overkill,
our other buddy Cliff decided to go on
the tour bus with me and meet up with Blitz. I had a couple of pages of questions
wrote out in advance & I asked them, but I was pretty nervous, for
real. No lying about it.
Bobby was
nothing but cool though and did at least a 45
minute interview with us. I went on to interview
Bobby 3 or 4 more times in the following
years and just this past summer I did a
bastard video of Overkill's
Rocklahoma press conference in Pryor,
Oklahoma (which you can view
HERE!).
So now, years later, in honor of that very first
interview, SplatterTribe has made a deal
with Louisville, KY concert promoter Terry
Harper to give away 2 tickets to Overkill's
April 29th, Killfest 2010 show also
featuring Vader, God Dethroned,
Warbringer, Evile & Woe Of
Tyrants. This is a contest for the Metal
fans. We will have more contests soon for the
rest of you! More on that at another time.
