  The Splattered!@%#! Q & A

WEEK 6 - 02/08/2010 - DirtFoot

GypsyPunkCountry

This weeks Splattered!@%#! Q & A is not with a flying pig, although it would be awesome if it was! Being a swine lover myself, (I have a 4 year old black, pot bellied pig named Slash or Slasher, depending on your relationship to him) I couldn't help but check into a band with a swine as a mascot. That brought me to this Louisiana based band known as Dirtfoot.

First off, let's address this Louisiana thing. It has been completely coincidental that for three weeks in a row we have featured someone from Louisiana. If you go back 2 weeks ago you'll find a Splattered!@%#!! Q & A with former WWF wrestler the One Man Gang (BTW, check out the February 9th NEWS for more on the Gang!) who is from Louisiana. Then last week we posted 2 Q & A's. One was with former Splattered classmate, bassist for Soulfly and founder of Primer 55....Bobby Burns, who is not from Louisiana, but the other was with our Miss February 2010....Danielle who is from Louisiana. This has been truly coincidental! It has nothing to do with the fact that the New Orleans Saints won the Superbowl because they just did that last night. This has been going on for 3 weeks! It ain't the Tribe's fault Louisiana is just AWESOME and it ain't the Tribe's fault that Karma Spanked the Colts!

So anyway, that brings us back to this weeks Splattered@%#! Q & A with Gypsy, Punk, Country, Grumble, Boogie's own Dirtfoot. That is a long description, but it is even longer now, because now you have to add Splattered!@%#! to the list! That's right, in Week 6 of 2010, Dirtfoot is our Splattered!@%#! Q & A! Who's next? Who Knows....Could be anybody......Hell, it might be YOU!

Meet Dirtfoot

Dirtfoot - Pullin Up Stakes 'LIVE at Voodoo'

The Splattered!@%#! Q & A with Dirtfoot

SplatterTribe: Introduce the band and compare each other or each member to something you would find in a bathroom.

Dirtfoot: Alright. Well first there's Matt Hazelton - lead singer and guitar. He's kinda like the gunk growing in the back corner of the bathroom, kinda dark, kinda scary, and no one wants to touch it.

Next there's J Bratlie - He plays banjo and backup vocals, and deals with most of the band business. So he would be the plunger, dealing with all the s@#$.

Next there's Scott Gerardy - Saxophone and backup vocals. He lays down the pretty melodies and sweet sax solos, so he would be like a nice potpourri, half successfully covering the bathroom funk.

Then there's Eric Gardner - Upright Bass. He would have to be the floor joists, holding all the stuff up.

Then Daniel Breithaupt - Percussion. When you hear the pipes rattling in the walls, that's Daniel

Lastly, Lane Bayliss - He's a Neti Pot.

SplatterTribe: For anyone who has no idea who Dirtfoot is, give us a little lesson in Dirtfoot.

Dirtfoot: Dirtfoot is the Gypsy, Punk, Country, Grumble, Boogie wonder from Shreveport, LA. Founded on whiskey swillin' front porch foot stomping, Dirtfoot leaves nothing but devastation and sweet tunes in it's wake.

SplatterTribe: I notice you have a rather fit pig as your mascot, I have a pet pig named Slash who has a slight weight problem, what is your pig's workout regimen?

Dirtfoot:
Booga is our pig and keeps his fine physique with general lounging and occasional flight.

(Tribe Note: I'm not gonna show a pic right now of my boy Slasher, because due to his toiletary issue, he resides outside and right now, it is really frickin' muddy around here and he get's pissed when I take pics of'm all muddy and stuff. You will be able to view Slash on the upcoming edition of VH1's Celebrity Fit Club though so Tune In!! No, really Slash is a BBP and proud of it! When he gets clean, the pic will be posted!)

SplatterTribe: How do you define the following words?

Dirtfoot:
Music -
A must have to live
Entertainment -
Hopefully we get a little and give a little
Art -
Another must have
Life -
is what happens when your not paying attention.

SplatterTribe: Ok, what's the origins of the name Dirtfoot?

Dirtfoot: Basically, back to the dirty front porch, stomping your feet. At the end of the night you're tracking your Dirtfoot back in the house.

SplatterTribe: Name association time. I say the name, you say what comes to mind.

Dirtfoot:

David Allen Coe - perfect country song
-Jon Bon Jovi -
good hair
-Prince -
the man
-T.I. -
huh?
-Ronnie James Dio -
DIO!!!
-Miley Cyrus -
unfortunate

SplatterTribe:  If Dirtfoot put a summer festival of 10 acts together, who would they be?

Dirtfoot: Awe man, that would be hard. Each guy would have a different list, hell so long as we were one of the ten we'd be cool with it.

(Tribe Note: Ok, so the BeeGee's, Barry Manillo does Hank Williams Jr., Kip Winger on ice, Ricky Martin in tights, Thompson Twins, Gary Glitter, Air Supply, Jermaine Jackson sings AC/DC & Lindsay Lohan as the mic stand hiding the disappearing mic, festival is right up Dirtfoot's ally? Seriously? Wow....Ok....I would not have expected that one!)

SplatterTribe: Make one sentence out of the following words or phrase.

Foot
Splattered
Swine
Allen Wrench
Candle
Birth Control Pill

Dirtfoot:
After a night of candles and birth control pills, the swine, Allen Wrench, splattered the contents of his enormous foot on the walls for all to see

SplatterTribe:
What come to mind when you hear the word SplatterTribe?

Dirtfoot: That's got to be a wild bunch... not exactly sure what the splatter means, but hell, we're up for it.

SplatterTribe: Any chances of working SplatterTribe into one of your songs?

Dirtfoot: hmm, we might be able to make that happen.

(Tribe Note: Hey you make that happen and we will forever call you the Mighty Dirtfoot and you shall always have an outlet here as The Mighty Dirtfoot!!)

SplatterTribe: Finish the following sentences for me...

Dirtfoot:

--If you don't like Dirtfoot you can......
change your mind!

--I can not stand...
on my hands.

--There's Nothing cooler than.....
a room full of shaking bean cans.

--If I wasn't doing this interview right now, I would be.........
sleeping

--I never have understood.......
how a helicopter works.

(Tribe Note: How does a helicopter work? I mean, I have a box fan and it doesn't exactly fly around the house, you know?)

SplatterTribe:  Do you believe........

-in Ghosts?
-in UFO's?
-in Sasquatch's?

Dirtfoot: No but I do have great Zombie stories!

(Tribe Note: May be...but the Tribe has the Zombie Kill Of The Week! BTW< that is a Zombie Land reference for those who don't know!)

SplatterTribe: We have a Proverb of the Week on our NEW & Improved Forum/Message Board. Do you have any proverbs we can use in the future?

Dirtfoot: If man built it, man can take it apart...

(Tribe Note: And Instructions are just another mans opinion!)

SplatterTribe: I ask everyone I interview if they have a random question I can ask a future interviewee. Can be about anything. This question comes from Bonnie Parker of NYC band TANG and her question is....

---What are you wearing?---

Dirtfoot: A nice tweed sport coat with loafers and khakis.

SplatterTribe: Do you have a good, random question I can ask a future interviewee?

Dirtfoot: What is the sound of one hand clapping?

SplatterTribe: Do you have a  question you would like to ask me?

Dirtfoot: How do you find us?

(Tribe Note: How Do you find you? Follow the links before and after this Q & A. Put the drink down first though and maybe you can find yourself!)

SplatterTribe: Songwriting time, I wrote a verse, then when Grim did his interview he wrote a verse.

Then when Lenny from The Infinite Staircase did his interview, he wrote two lines.

Then when Eddie Spaghetti of the Supersuckers did his, he wrote 2 lines.

Then when Chris Morehouse of Silent From The Struggle did his interview, he

wrote 2 lines.

Now, Your turn!

Me: Although it was so quiet
My ears were about to burst

Grim: But the flames overtook the darkness
and I was the one burnt first

Lenny: Then with the blink of an eye

it happened so fast

Eddie Spaghetti: She came up and threw me down
And kicked my ass

Chris Morehouse: I put her in a rear naked choke
as she started to gasp

You: all I need is a thousand turtles

(Tribe Note: OK, somewhere around Chris Morehouse this song took a violent turn and Dirtfoot brought it back with weirdness. Should this song

be officially retired or continued? Let me know at tribe@splattertribe.tv!)

SplatterTribe: Any closing comments concerning anything you want said, known, printed or shown?
