She's funny, she's creative, she's educated, she's multi-talented, she's HOT, she's from Louisiana and she is SplatterTribe.TV's Miss February 2010! You can call her The Black Clad Vixen. You can call her Danielle, but from here on out, ALWAYS call her Splattered!@%#!! Miss Splattered!@%#!, February 2010!

Primal Email Interview with Miss February 2010, Danielle

SplatterTribe: Introduce yourself and compare yourself to something that could mortally wound me and explain why the comparison.

Danielle: My name is Danielle, and I have to go with something a friend said: a meat cleaver.  Shiny on the outside, a little top heavy, but can cut you to the bone if necessary. I am by nature an exceedingly positive person.  I hold few grudges and can honestly say, I waste my time hating no one.  The top heavy part should be self-explanatory  (an obvious reference to my assets of an intellectual nature).  However, I will cut you to the core if necessary if you make a power play designed to hurt someone I love.  My loyalties leave no room for that kinda nonsense.  Basically, don't fuck with my people, and I stay shiny and top heavy :)

SplatterTribe:  For anyone who has no idea who you may be, give us and idea of what you have done, are doing and will do.

Danielle:  !'m a high school teacher (yes, really), reformed beauty queen, and former cheerleader (don't hold it against me).   On the side, I enjoy photographing rock shows, swimming with sharks, drinking Absolut Grey Goose Redbulls (not a typo), and cuddling with my two rescued kitties. My future endeavors include not ending up dead in a ditch due to vodka poisoning and going a solid month without some jackass hitting my car as I continue to educate the minds of America's youth.   Also considering a career involving introducing some terrorists to my 9mm.  :)

SplatterTribe: Your MySpace name is Black Clad Vixen, what's the reason behind that?

Danielle: My freshman year of college, I lived in the honors dorm (yes, I was a nerd).  However, as young and inexperienced as I was, I was the only girl on the floor who had kissed, let alone been involved with, a guy. So once a week, about 2 dozen girls on the floor would meet in the room next to mine and talk about boys (namely, they would ask questions, and I would answer.

I entertained gems like "wait, you have to move during sex?". just an indication of the what I was dealing with).  Anyway, one night I came into "education 228 (as we called it) a few minutes late from being on an extremely classy college freshman date, and one of my genius friends screamed out "Danielle, you are such a vixen!"  Seeing as how I mainly dressed in black jeans and rock tees, it evolved into black clad vixen, and when I created my MySpace profile while bored in a comparative civilizations class, it seemed fitting.  Now if I change it, people can't seem to figure it out.  I'd hate to stress anyone, so I leave it be.

SplatterTribe: What inspires the verses that you use as Captions in your photo album?

Danielle: Every verse is direct copyright infringement of some amazing band whose lyrics have inspired me at some point.  I think my three most commonly used bands are The Veer Union, 12 Stones, and maybe Mudvayne.  I tend to express myself in words and pictures, so if I'm in a particularly emotional state, I usually either write a blog to convey the emotion, or attempt to capture it in a picture.  those words are the words that have been a lifeline on some rough nights, particularly 12 Stones in 2008.

SplatterTribe: Word Association Time. Four Words...

Danielle:

Music is oxygen.
Entertainment is as simple and cheap as bubble wrap.

Art is blood.

Life is too short to live it in misery...or someone else's footsteps.

SplatterTribe: Make one combined sentence using the following words.

Vixen
Splatter
February
receipt
blanket
box fan

Danielle: Vixen lost the receipt from February for that box fan she used to splatter the blanket against the wall.

SplatterTribe: Finish the following sentences for me.....

Danielle:

--If you don't like Danielle you can.....get West Nile through a mosquito bite...on the ass.

--Nothing annoys me more than.....
insecure women who assume that because another woman has cleavage, she's a whore.  Either get a boob job or get over it.

--There is nothing better.....
than sex with a brown eyed Canadian.

SplatterTribe: Do you believe in and-or have you ever had any experiences with (if so please explain)...

Danielle:

--Ghosts. definite believer.  MAY have had an experience with a man who disappeared into thin air after a 5 minute long conversation in which he knew things no one should have known about me.  Seriously.
--UFO's. I've never seen one and doubt they exist.  Not that I don't believe in aliens.  I just would figure most advanced life forms would choose to avoid mankind as a whole.
--Sasquatch: the 250lb thing my ex cheated with.

SplatterTribe: What comes to mind when you hear the words SplatterTribe?

Danielle: I see cannibals.  Seriously.  An Amazon-esque tribe of cannibals.  Perhaps the whole "splatter" thing is what is making me go this direction.

SplatterTribe:
If you where going to do a photo shoot for SplatterTribe, what would you wear and what would you envision for a background?

Danielle: I'd go tribal and slightly cannibalistic.  coconut bra, body paint, palm leaf skirt.  Put me on an island with all the makings for a slightly psychopathic, yet oh so endearing scene....half naked men, a fire pit, some blood... mmmmm.  yes.  This would work.  Toss a couple of rum bottles into the mix and we have a cocktail for a fun shoot.

SplatterTribe: I ask everyone I interview if they have a good, random question I can ask a future interviewee. The question can be about ANYTHING. So this question comes from SplatterTribe.TV's Miss January known as Chromegirl. Her question is.....

--What is your favorite sound?--

Danielle: I have two.  One is the sound of a tam drum being hit, with no excess crap from a cymbal or snare or bass drum.  Something about the depth of the sound gives me chills when it is allowed to resonate in its entirety.

The other one is my male cat's meow.  He is a rescue cat, and he never was very vocal. A few months after I took him in, I heard his first meow.  It happened to be on a Christmas morning. He still only verbalizes himself when it's just him and me in a room.  Kinda makes it special.  Definitely a departure from my extremely vocal female cat.

SplatterTribe:  Do you have a good random question I can ask Miss March?

Danielle:  What is your favorite brand of lingerie and why?

SplatterTribe: Do you have any question you would like to ask me?

Danielle:  Sure. there's nothing particularly earth-shattering about me, as there was with some of your previous Miss candidates, so what made you ask me to be Miss February?

(Tribe Note: Well, actually the Tribe was exploring our MySpace friends --which is where all candidates for the SplatterTribe's Miss' come from-- and we stumbled upon your MySpace page. You're 'momma insult' headline ruled!! and as we checked the rest of your page out, we saw you where creative, interesting and literally a 'Hot Teacher'....like in the David Lee Roth/Van Halen kind of way!! If that don't qualify you as Miss February, I don't know what does! Got it made.... Got it made.... Got it made........)

SplatterTribe: We have a proverb of the week on our NEW & Improved Forum. Do you have a good proverb we can use as a future proverb of the week?

Danielle: Try again. Fail again. Fail better.-Samuel Beckett

"Sometimes I get depressed that you don't hit on me, but then I realize I'm nowhere near fucked up enough for you, and then I take it as a compliment."

SplatterTribe: OK, time to check your songwriting skills.. I wrote 2 lines to a verse. Then Miss December Roni

Jonah wrote 2 lines. Then Miss January Chromegirl wrote 2 more. I need you to write 2 more.

Danielle: Oh, you're killin me!!! I am lyrically challenged.

Me: Anymore I don't care If these walls fall down
I'll just dig a rut and live in the ground

Roni: Be the ruler of my underground town
Sex and violence, spread it all around.

Chromegirl: I will make sense of these things I've found
Living, breathing, disappearing into the sound

Danielle:  A fallen angel: broken, tattered, and torn
Savior of those who should have never been born.

SplatterTribe: Now that you are Officially SplatterTribe.TV's 'Miss February', what are you going to do next?

Danielle: My southern hospitality dictates that you need a good meal and a drink.  Come on down, we'll do the Quarter, feed you Southern style, then get you a drink and hit a rock show.  It'll be a fun night, if you can keep up. :)

SplatterTribe: Any closing comments concerning anything you want said, known, printed or shown?

Danielle: Sure.  For any bands reading this: South Louisiana has some amazing music fans and not that many bands to support.  Contact me for information on cities and venues to play.  Get down here and increase your fan base!  We are NOT all inbred Cajuns listening to Zydeco.  The question is, can you keep up with us when it comes to Jäger??

For music lovers of any area, there are two bands you NEED to check out.  One is my local boys of 12 Stones (LINK). After surviving Hurricane Katrina, the boys came out of a several year hibernation to record a new album, "Anthem for the Underdog", which includes songs you can tell were influenced by the devastation of the storm.  They are currently recording in NYC, and will be releasing a new album later this year.  Support some amazing people and keep your eyes open

for this album.  It will blow your mind, I assure you.

The another band you NEED to know about are my favorite Canadians, The Veer Union (LINK).  Now, I know what you're thinking: Canada????  What cool shit comes from Canada????  The answer is these guys.  Rock with an edge, their live shows are constantly evolving and never lacking in entertainment.  Each musician plays at least 2 instruments and showcases this talent onstage.  Their talents also span genres.  They play one cover per set that has ranged from Rihanna's "Umbrella" to Perfect Circle's "Judith". Their debut album "Against the Grain" ranges from hard rock anthems to sensual ballads.  AMAZING.  But perhaps most impressive to me is that they still remember from where they have come.  The boys, even with a song in the top ten of active rock charts, still play free shows for high schools to encourage teens to pursue musical feats.

For people who appreciate MUSIC television (not the crap we have today on cable), check out LCN (LINK) television network.  It features a program I have been fortunate enough to work with called "The Vault". The Vault is exclusively on LCN, and features hard rock, alternative, and metal music videos, interviews, and clips of live performances.  It spans from local and/or unsigned acts to international talent on the scale of Marilyn Manson, Slayer, and Bullet for My Valentine.  It is a satellite based network that spans most of the Western Hemisphere and is available free!  Simply call your cable provider and ask for LCN to be added to your rotation. For a better display of the artists featured on The Vault, check out its MySpace page at http://www.myspace.com/thevaultonlcn .

Finally, for those in the Southeast looking for a good live rock photographer, please feel free to check out my MySpace and see my work.  Through The Vault, I have photographed acts such as Trivium, Behemoth, Slayer, Marilyn Manson, Bullet for My Valentine, and Killswitch Engage.  Other groups I've shot at local venues include The Veer Union, 12 Stones, Five Finger Death Punch, Mudvayne, and Egypt Central.  I shoot local bands, national bands, and international ones.  Contact me.  We'll talk.
