Oil Spill, U.S. Senate, NEWS, RIP John Phelps V

Game Of The Week:

Asteroid Field

Quote Of The Week:

"a good ole' bucket of dog noses to squish on"

Word Of The Week:

Fight

What is happenin' people? There's been a lot goin on this month (as usual)...

First off... Thankfully they have that damn pipe fixed! I will keep the BP Oil Spill Live Video Feed up on the website until we know for sure this thing is over, though. Hopefully this cap works...

Secondly, although I previously stated I would be running for the U.S. Senate, I have decided to no longer pursue this venture. I would like to thanks all of my supporters for all of their a... supporting, but after watching C-SPAN one day and seeing all of those awesome personalities in one room, I realized that giving myself paper cuts underneath my finger nails would be more entertaining. BTW, Fire Them ALL!

For those wondering, no I did not attend Hullabalou in Louisville, KY. There was some issues with "timing".

Last week and this week have been finals week(s) for my summer courses and has been keeping me pretty busy. BTW, did you know that (and I quote...), "Serial Conflicts may also lead to meta-conflicts, which are conflicts about the way you conduct conflict!?" Because I now do!

I went out on a earlier this month with the P.A.S.T. of KY Crew. As an affiliate of A & E's Ghost Adventurers, P.A.S.T. of KY was asked to check on a situation in Lexington, KY. I don't think anything was really found, but I think the resident feels a little better about her situation now. Man, this P.A.S.T. of KY crew is an eclectic group of people that get along real well.

BTW...Thanks to Robert Vilanueva for the ride and for the proofreading help!

I'll be back this week. I got something I want to speak on now though and then I'm out...

For those wondering about the posting on the main page. A friend of the Tribe, John Phelps V decided last week that he did not want to continue the fight in this world. I want to start by saying, I am not a judge, nor I am a jury. I don't pretend to know everything and I won't pretend to have all the answers. Now that that is out of the way, here's what I want to say. If you have read the SplatterTribe News any over this past year, I have spoke several times about John. He recorded a demo for his song, "I Do It Again" earlier in the year and I have done my best to help promote it here on the Tribe site. See, me and John go way back. Although we never really 'hung out' one on one or on an everyday basis, we have always had A LOT of common friends and our paths have crossed millions of times. Years ago we actually jammed together in band for a few short weeks (I quit because I thought the band name was stupid or something). I remember those few practices we had that we where coming up with cover songs for the band to play and I kept trying to get the guys to play Black Sabbath's 'Sweet Leaf'. Like, I really wanted us to play 'Sweet Leaf'. Then, for years later John would laugh about how I was always saying, "Sweet Leaf!" "Let's Play Sweet Leaf!" back then. You probably had to be there to appreciate it...

Anyway, as I said, we where never real close. Would I say we where friends? You know, I don't know. I guess maybe we where. We where not close friends though. We where just running in the same circles and crossing paths every so often. We never really had any issues, that I am aware of though, and we got along when we talked, but for some reason we just never really hung out. I don't really know why. Earlier this year though, John hit me up on Facebook and started telling me about his new music. The idea that he was still writing and fighting to get his music out was awesome to me, so I told him I would do whatever I could to help promote his stuff. Since then, we briefly communicated online maybe once a week. Let me say this. I do spend a lot of time and energy on this whole SplatterTribe thing and although we do get a lot of hits. I rarely get a lot of feedback. I mean I get it, but on a day to day basis, there isn't a lot of people that just take the time to cheer the Tribe on. I'm not complaining, I'm just telling it like it is... John though, was one of those that actually took the time to write and say "Keep up the good work!" (or something to that effect). I don't do this to get people to tell me stuff like that, so don't confuse my point here. You just got to be appreciative to those who do and for the past year, anytime me and John Phelps crossed paths, he said that or something like that to me.

We actually just ran into each other a couple of weeks ago at a local store and he and his huge personality acted genuinely exited that we did run into each other ( I had both hands full and he was still trying to shake my hands! ) We stopped and chatted for a bit and he kept telling me he would be going into the studio soon and recording another song and that he would send it my way when it was done. He seemed legitimately exited at the prospect of getting another song done and I told him when I got it, I would post it. We also spoke about his "I Do It Again" song and he really wanted my opinion on it. I told him, for what it was (quality wise), I thought it was awesome. When I said that his face lit up. He said something to the effect of  "Hell Yeah!" We hit hands and then walked our separate ways.

Little did I know that about a week and a half later, John would not be around anymore. That new song would not be recorded.

When I signed on to Facebook last Monday and found out what had happened, I am not going to lie, I was legitimately shocked, disappointed, upset and sad that John was no longer with us. I also felt bad for his family and for all of his friends and for all of those that got reminded of other friends and family that was lost in this same manner. It's always a tough situation. I don't know what John's fight was. I just wish he had fought longer. I don't know what went on in his head, though. I am not one of these people who think they know everything. I know I don't. I don't know what he was dealing with. All I know is every time I spoke to him this passed year, he took the time to cheer me and the SplatterTribe on and he did it at times when it was needed and for that I say Thank You...

John, brother, I wish you had stuck things out man. As I said, I don't know what your battle was, but I do want to say thanks for the support that you sent my way this year. It's a shame we won't be getting that new song, though. I would have liked to have heard it.  Rest In Peace, dude...

Word Of The Week:

Well, well, well, what do we have here? Oh, wait a minute, It's July! That's what it is. These silly little months change so much that I never know when they start!

This July has arrived though and it's expected to be pretty hot. So with that, let me introduce you to a little Autumn in July. The only thing is, this Autumn won't do much for the temperature, because all this Autumn is gonna do is get it even hotter around here! What am I talking about? Miss July 2010 Monica Rae Autumn. That's what I'm talking about and she's bringing a heat wave with her! Find out NOW all for yourself, HERE! and don't forget to check Miss June Daphne Sparks out once more either. You can check her out HERE!

Hey, have you checked out my interview with Rob Zombie bassist Piggy D yet? It was conducted at this years Rock On The Range in Columbus, Ohio and It got posted last week. Piggy himself gave it an ole' Tweet to his Tritterers, which was cool. It's always good when someone shows you a little appreciating for showing them some appreciation, because trust me, that does not always happen in this business (Hell, that doesn't much happen in any business, huh?). So Thanks Piggy for that! Our old pal's at Blabbermouth.net also gave us a little respect and posted about the interview as well! You can check that post out HERE! So thanks to the Blabbermouth crew for that! BTW, After the interview with Piggy at ROTR, I went back to the media tent and low and behold their was Piggy once more doing an interview with a journalist I met named Brandy Graff- You can actually check her interview with Piggy out here- and while she was chatting with Piggy, I spoke to Rob Zombie's tour manager for most of the time. He was a cool dude, who has worked with Zombie, Marilyn Manson, Motley Crue, I think Ozzy and a major list of others. Anyway, it was a good conversation and maybe I can get back in touch with him soon for an interview, because that cat has seen alot! Back to my Piggy D Interview Though...CHECK IT OUT HERE!

By the way, I have an official announcement paid for by Splattertribe.TV

Tired of the political BS? Tired of this left side and that right side and the other side and the salad on the side? Well, I am and with that, I would like to announce my candidacy for Senator in the Great Commonwealth of KY! I promise, if elected, I will start every political conversation I am involved with, with 'Cut The Bullshit'! I will follow that with my version of 'duck, duck goose' entitled 'Idiot, Idiot, not-idiot'. After that game, who knows what will happen as expect to not get any further than idiot, idiot, idiot, idiot, idiot, idiot.

Remember - Luie - A man for change (preferably made of silver and gold) says 'Cut The Bullshit' in '10

This announcement was paid for by SplatterTribe.TV

So I heard my Death Metal bro's in Abominant, just released a track from their upcoming cd. These guys are as Extreme as Metal Dude's could be, so this won't be for everybody, but nothing ever is anyway. So if you like extreme Metal, check these guys out and their new track 'Rain Of Ash'. I can't even begin to explain the history I have with this band! Their MySpace page is www.myspace.com/abominant. Don't be scared...

I also ran into John Phelps, this week. Man he's like an exploding firework of energy, got tired just lookin at him! HAHA, He actually told me he would be working on a new recording soon. If you haven't checked out his last single/demo, check it out HERE!, give it a couple of listens and see what you think.

Oh Yeah, I ran into Grimlock this week. He's been slowly creeping back in points on the SplatterTribe Message Board. You can beat his scores, HERE!

Hey, BTW, I can't believe I almost forgot this, but last month was SplatterTribe biggest month, as far a distinct hits.  So that's awesome and thanks to all. We hit well over 100,000 distincts for the month of July and that is pretty good considering how this shit is ran around here! HAHA Now, Help us spread the word and bring in more people! Thanks for the support to those who take the time to do so! You are the one's I'd give a ride to if you where stranded!

If I talked anymore right now, I'd be rambling, so I won't, but I will soon return!

Well, Miss June was finally posted last week and what a Miss June she is! I spoke in the previous NEWS about the issues I was having with getting a Miss June posted. You might remember, the original Miss June couldn't get her stuff together in time, so I had to find another one. With that being said,  would like to give a special thanks to Daphne Sparks for stepping up to the plate on short notice. She was lined up to be an upcoming Miss, but with the situation the Tribe was in, she got moved up! She should have been Miss June to begin with, anyway! So, check out her Q & A HERE.

OK, I have gotten behind on some planned interviews recently and I would like to apologize to those that I promised to get back to. I'm gonna break what they call keyfabe here and let those who don't know in on a secret. SplatterTribe.TV is basically a one man show, with that man being me. EVERYTHING you see on this website is basically done by or set up by...myself. From the web design, to the interviews, to the pictures, I am the one who's responsible and....well...this shit aint easy! and it's also very time consuming. That's just how it is. I have some friends that occasionally stop in and add a little sumthin', but not very often. I have constantly tried to show diversity on the site, which has recently caused gaps in updates. The reason being is I wanted each post to showcase something different than that of the previous posts- different styles of interviews and people for example. The issue I ran into though, was I would send out Q & A's and end up waiting for replies from people that just gave me the runaround, thus causing gaps in updates. The diversity was hard to organize as well, something different each time is a hard concept to maintain. So, for here on out, I'm just gonna post what I get-whatever style of interview, whatever style of interviewee. Postings may be diverse. Postings may not be diverse, but there will be postings.

Now, getting back to the one man show. Everything you see here, I do. Who am I? I'm Luie, I have done more interviews through the years than I can even remember. I have done this, on the side and for fun, for 15+ years and being that I am 25 years old now, that means I have been doing this since I was 10 years old, people! YEAH, that's right 10 years old! While you where playing with toys, watching cartoons, doing your addition homework and crying for yo mamma at 10, I was interviewing members of Motley Crue, Guns N Roses & Pantera!... OK, not really, I may not have been 10 and I may be a little older than 25, but I have interviewed members of those bands, just not when I was playing with toys, watching cartoons, doing addition homework and crying for yo mamma.

Nonetheless, I have paid my dues for this throughout the years and I have done this with no pay throughout the years. It's just what I do. I have gotten to see a lot of cool shows and meet a lot of cool people for free though, but I have also gotten anyone that has hung out with me, for any period of time, in free to some concert, at some point, as well. So I share the wealth. There are some people that will say I haven't taken them to shows, but chances are, it is their own fault, because I would have if they would have went. Now, why am I telling you this? I don't know. I guess because it makes me sound good or something? No, I'm telling you because that is what makes up this Tribe. The SplatterTribe is based around people who come together, for any reason related to Music, Entertainment, Art & Life, which basically covers anybody and everything at anytime.

Most of my interviews I have conducted through the years have been with Rock & Metal bands and the thing about Rock and Metal is, even if you try to get away from them, they will just keep pulling you back in! Rock N Roll is like the Mafia and Metal is like a Militia. You can't 'just leave' either of them, I don't care who you are. So you might see more of those style bands on here than any other, but I am open to showcasing any style of music and may at any time. I dig all styles. I am not just a Rock/Metal fan, I just seem to relate to and cross paths with those artists more often than others. I am an Outlaw enthusiast though, I love Outlaw Music, of all styles. So don't be surprised if a Country Artist or Hip Hop Artist stop in from time to time.

I know I have started rambling a bit and I have gotten a little off course from my initial point of apologizing to those I have not gotten back in touch with, but I do want to add a couple of more things. One is, since I do do this all myself, at anytime that anyone has any advice or idea's for improvements, PLEASE LET ME KNOW! Also, at any time you see any mistakes or issues with the site, PLEASE LET ME KNOW! There is a lot to keep track of and I sometime overlook things. I am only one man. Another thing, I would love to hear from those of you that stop by. I just started up a comments section at the bottom of each new page, feel free to give it a try and leave a comment. That would be cool, even if it is just a, "Hey, I stopped by!" or something. If not, then Oh Well, I guess. Do what ya want ta do. Also, there is still the SplatterTribe Forum and Arcade up and available if you feel like checking in there.

MUSHROOMHEAD! Have you checked out my NEW interview with Waylon of the Monster-Metal band Mushroomhead yet? The interview was conducted at this years Rock On The Range a few hours before they took the stage. Those guys have been around for a long time, even longer than Monster-Metal band Slipknot and actually had a feud going for a long while with the Slipknot guys. That's all over with these days though, I believe.

I'll tell you a funny story about Monster-Metal bands real quick. Years ago, me and a fallen brother of mine Kyle Younger (RIP) interviewed one of the biggest Monster-Metal bands of all time, GWAR! after a show they performed in Louisville, KY. The interview took place on GWAR!'s tour bus and I'll never forget that they had the stinkiest tour bus I have ever witnessed. I mean, we did a good thirty minute interview while their bus was seriously smelling like stank-ass! It was awful! It was a smell I had yet to ever smell again until this Mushroomhead show.

-I'll set this up with a picture because this is probably about the time I noticed.-

If you notice, as he is pounding on those drums, water is going everywhere. It is a cool effect and on a hot day like that day was, the water felt good. The thing about that water though, is it reminded me of that GWAR! tour bus because it seriously smelled like stank-ass! I'm not sure why, I guess it's because it has to set for a long while, but it stank, man. So here is the question I pose. Why does something always have to smell like ass around one of these Monster-Metal bands? I'm just curious...

Mushroomhead put on an awesome show though and Waylon was nothing but cool. Check out my interview with him HERE. These guys made me a BIG fan that day and I look forward to checking out their NEW Slaughterhouse Road album when it is released. I just do not look forward to ever standing right in front of those drums again until the plumbing gets fixed!

Well, that's all for now. I'll be back soon with more updates. Thanks for dropping by and let me know you where here. Shoot me an email, leave a comment or something!

BTW, don't forget to check out John Phelps' NEW single "I Do It Again" at www.musicforte.com/song/26158/IDoItAgainexperiental/
