Silent From The Struggle - To Week To Feel

tbwku420

Silent From The Struggle, these guys hail from my hometown of Elizabethtown Kentucky. They are still relatively new, and will soon be releasing their first E.P. I actually have known drummer Chris Russell for quite along time. I knew him as a guitar player, but, I guess, somewhere down the line he decided drums were a better fit and now he's with these guys in Silent From The Struggle.

The band, initially a five piece appears to be down to 4 now and consists of Chris Morehead on vocals, Chad Lewis on bass, Todd Wood on guitar and Chris Russell on drums.

This email interview was conducted with Vocalist Chris Morehouse, and he lets us all in on a little more info as to whom Silent From The Struggle is as well as showing he can play along well with these wacky Primal Interviews.

The SplatterTribe gladly welcomes Silent From The Struggle to the Tribe and recommends all to give them a check out and to stay tuned to see what these guys will be bringing to the table as the year bares on.

Interview with Chris Morehouse

SplatterTribe: Introduce yourself and compare yourself and each band member to some sort of street sign and explain why the comparison.

Chris Morehouse:

Chris Morehouse- lead vocals- Slippery When Wet sign because he makes all the ladies moist...lol---
Chad Lewis- bass- Falling Rock Zone because his bass sounds like a damn mountain about to collapse on you head---
Chris Russell- drums- Caution sign because he is a quiet, water runs deep type of dude, but if you stir him up, you're gonna drown---
Todd Wood- guitar- Dangerous Curve sign because he is so unpredictable---

Chris Morehouse

SplatterTribe: For anyone who has no idea who you guys are how would do best describe what it is you guys do?

Chris Morehouse: we do what we love... we make music that people can groove to, touches personal aspects of life, and just flat out makes you wanna drink more beer and party.---

SplatterTribe: How do you define the following words?

Chris Morehouse:

Music: life... passion---

Entertainment: come watch us play live...---
Art: expressing emotion through sound, color, sculpture....etc...----

Life: unpredictable---

SplatterTribe: Does political partisanship belong in Music?

Chris Morehouse: in some forms. music is a way to express feelings and happenings in life, so if you feel a certain way about politics and wanna write about it, then why not?---

SplatterTribe: Let's play SplatterTribe-1 Story Tellers. Pick some of your songs and give us a story for each one.

Todd Wood

Chris Morehouse: all of our songs are pretty much about Chris' (lead vocals) trials and tribulations in life...

"to weak too feel"- is about when you are in a bad relationship and the person walks all over you and treats you so bad that your heart just kinda goes numb and gets "to weak too feel" anything more.

"living through you"- is about a dear friend who loved music just like we do and he tragically died. we then formed this band and the song is about our band living his dream for him.

"10 minutes ago"- is about when you have really strong feelings for a girl and she leaves, and 10 minutes later you miss her, all to come and find out that the feeling you thought were mutual were all fake but felt so real.

SplatterTribe: Ok, if this was an edition of SplatterTribe Television's Cribs, what would we find in your refrigerator?

Chris Morehouse: blue PowerAde's, beer, eggs, and hot sauce... we're broke...lol

SplatterTribe: Make one sentence out of the following words or phrases.

slime
silent
splatter
bullshit
broken string
peanut butter

Chris Morehouse: It was bullshit... so I was sitting there silent, and all of a sudden I got slime splatter all over me because I tried to fix a broken string with peanut butter---

SplatterTribe: What visually comes to mind when you hear the words SplatterTribe combined?

Chris Morehouse: a bunch of mutants made of green glowing oooooz having a clan meeting.---

SplatterTribe: If you were to start your own musicians hall of fame (individuals not artists), who would be your first five nominees?

Chris Morehouse:
1.Brent-lead vocals from Shinedown
2.Tom Morella- guitar from R.A.T.M. and Audioslave
3.Danny Carey- drummer from Tool
4.Chino- lead man- Deftones
5.Morgan Rose- drummer- Sevendust

Chris Russell

SplatterTribe: What would you do if you were standing in line at a port-a-potty and when the dude in front of you went in and shut the door he unknowingly dropped

Chris Morehouse:

a) a $200 bill
--- buy everyone some more beer if it was a real object---

b) a joint
---sale it and get beer money---
c) a piece of paper that said, 'Silent From The Struggle Sucks!' on it.
---wipe my ass with it---

d) your keys
--- think to myself, "damn, I've been looking for these..."---

e) a membership card to the 'I Pee On Port-A-Potty Door Handles' club
--- be ready to piss on his shoes when he walked out---

f) A picture of your girlfriend.
---draw a mustache on her and give it back to him and call him a queer...---

SplatterTribe: You got to tell us the origins of the name Silent From The Struggle

Chris Morehouse: silent from the struggle comes from the whole band dealing with more than there share of problems through there young lives and just the fact that we've all held in our pain and emotions this whole time and just stayed silent throughout our life's struggles... Silent from the Struggle

Chad Lewis

SplatterTribe: I ask everyone I interview for a question to ask a future interviewee. This weeks question comes from Lorraine Lewis of the 80's band Femme Fatale and her question(s) is.......What did you have for breakfast and what is your fav cocktail?

Chris Morehouse:
eggs and toast, but what the hell is a cocktail? my favorite drinks are beer and vodka and Redbull.---

SplatterTribe: Do you have a good random question to ask a future interviewee?

Chris Morehouse:
whorehouse or strip club......?---

SplatterTribe: Do you have any questions you'd like to ask me?

Chris Morehouse: when can we expect this to be up on the site...?---

(Tribe Note: Uhm....well, not for sure. Just check back in a week or two, it should be up.)

SplatterTribe: Songwriting time, I wrote a verse, then when Grim did his interview he wrote a verse, then when Lenny from The Infinite Staircase did his interview, he wrote two lines. Then when Eddie Spaghetti of the Supersuckers did his, he wrote 2 lines. I need you to write 2 more.

Me: Although it was so quiet
My ears were about to burst

Grim: But the flames overtook the darkness
and I was the one burnt first

Lenny: Then with the blink of an eye

it happened so fast

Eddie Spaghetti: She came up and threw me down
And kicked my ass

Chris Morehouse: I put her in a rear naked choke
as she started to gasp

SplatterTribe: Any closing comments concerning anything you want said, known, typed or shown?

Chris Morehouse: Silent from the Struggle, a kick ass band straight out of Elizabethtown, KY. Definitely go see these dudes live and grab one of their cd's while your at it. Bring your girlfriends too.....lol
