Honest to God, one of my first memories as a
kid was watching
Channel 3 Wrestling. Channel 3
Wrestling was also known as Memphis
Wrestling, or at least it is now; at the
time it was just Championship Wrestling.
The 2 biggest stars of Channel 3 Wrestling
was Bill 'Superstar' Dundee &
Jerry 'The King' Lawler and I completely
remember knowing who Bill 'Superstar'
Dundee and Jerry 'The King' Lawler
where way
before I
even
started
Kindergarten.
Now
I'm
not
trying
to
age
any
of
us
with
this, but
the
facts
are
the
facts
and
the
fact
is,
I
knew
who
Bill
Dundee
was
before
I
even
knew
how
to
tie
my
own
shoes.
I
knew
who
Bill
Dundee
was
before
I
even
knew
my
grand-parents
real
names,
and
I
knew
who
Bill
Dundee
was
before
I
even
knew
how
to
read
or
write.
Bill Dundee, to me, is an Entertainment
Legend.
Everyone
knows
Professional
Wrestling
is
Entertainment
and
Bill
is most definitely a Legend of
that
Entertainment
field.
Memphis
Wrestling,
in
it's
heyday,
was the top of the tops. It
was sellout after sellout after sellout and
the wrestlers where Superhero's or in
Bill
case,
sometimes
they
where
Super
Villains..
I've
met alot
of my musical hero's through the years.
Sometimes they are good experiences and
sometimes not, but I have to say meeting
Bill was as cool to me as it gets. He
was nothing but polite and set down and gave
an awesome interview. I mean, like I said,
he's an Entertainment Legend.
Bill spends
his time now wrestling at occasional events
as well as promoting some MMA.
This interview was conducted at a recent XCW
Midwest Wrestling Event in New Albany,
Indiana. (It was conducted shortly after I
interviewed his son Jamie Dundee.
Jamie's interview was posted recently on
SplatterTribe.TV, which you can read
here,
if you haven't already, but I also just
posted parts of the interview on YouTube,
which can now
be viewed
Part 1,
Part 2,
Part 3.
They are unedited and
dark, but there for the viewing.)
The event was the 2nd
anniversary of XCW in New Albany and a
portion of each ticket sold went to the
Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in honor of
a young child named David Kessinger II.
David was also in attendance, which
made the night even more of a special
occasion.
Oh and
BTW, if you don't like Bill "Superstar"
Dundee, You Can Kiss My SplatterTribe Ass!
