The Splattered!@%#! Q & A

WEEK 11 - 03/15/2010

WillowShade

.

This weeks Splattered!@%#! Q & A is with the band WillowShade. I first heard about these guys from Mike of BlastZone Entertainment & from Richard Young of the Kentucky Headhunters, when I interviewed him last year (HERE). WillowShade is managed by Animal Management, which is ran by none other than Richard Young, himself.

Fast Forward to November of last year when Black Stone Cherry & The Kentucky Headhunters put on their 3rd annual Toys For Tots benefit show in Cave City, Kentucky. That night I finally got to see these guys play. I also conducted a video interview with the whole band directly after their performance, but due to noise and all kinds of hectic-ness going on around us, I was not happy with how it came out and therefore it was never posted. The same goes for the band Purpose, which was the opening act that night. I will make it up to those guys to! Just give me time... Both bands where really cool guys.

I actually wrote a long story about my adventures at that show, which you can read it HERE.

So anyway, I have felt like I owed these guys for a while now and finally I got them out a Splattered Q & A. It's a good thing too, because it appears as if they where bursting to answer some questions! I don't really know who answered the Q & A. I presume it is a band effort with each member throwing in a word (or a letter)... Kind of like a Rap or something. They did later send along their bio, so I added it to question 2.

So check these guys out at the provided links because they are now & forever Officially Splattered and on March 15, 2010, WillowShade is our Week 11, Splattered!@%#!

Q & A!

WillowShade: Down to earth smooth sounds with fast and heavy parts to feed your inner rock.

WillowShade is the work and talent of five individuals who have the set goal to make and play rock n roll till' they throw us in the dirt. WillowShade was formed in early March of 2007. The band has achieved some great things from the time they first played cover songs in the drummer's garage, to playing shows with some of the industry’s best acts

(Black Stone Cherry, Kentucky Headhunters, Ten Years). The band’s sound is unlike any you will here. It's a scientific blend of face melting guitar riffs, powerful melodic vocals, thumping "nasty" bass lines and "thunderous jaw dropping" drumming. WillowShade is going to bring it every time, whether it is on stage or the studio. We make the music really come ALIVE! We want to bring our style on music to the world, we believe our music has really reached out to people that have heard it and we just want to keep spreading the magic. We're going to write music that feels good. Whether it’s a rockin' ass tune or a more laid back approach were going to make it and play it to the best to our abilities. So to all who have never experienced a WillowShade show, we seriously urge you to come out to one, we want to leave you shocked and knowing that was one of the most BADASS shows you'll ever see! So look on our schedule pick a date, and BE THERE!

(Tribe Note: This is FACT. The practice house they are referring to is the Legendary practice house of The Kentucky Headhunters. You can Google this and find some things out about it.)

SplatterTribe:  I ask everyone I interview if they have a good, random question to ask the next person I interview. With that being said, this question is from Louisville, KY based Drummer/Concert promoter Terry Harper and his question is....

SplatterTribe: Do you have a question you would like to ask me?

WillowShade: How can we get more fans and exposure in Louisville? We need a big show up there.

(Tribe Note: Well, you need to get a hold of last weeks Splattered Q & A victim and asker of the 'What was the first concert you attended?" question, Terry Harper. Terry is the Go-To promoter for Rock Shows in Louisville! Check out his Q & A HERE!)

SplatterTribe: Songwriting time! I write 2 lines to a verse and each member that is answering this needs to add 2 more lines.

I can count these empty bottles
